Sandnes Garn Alpakka Fölgetråd lace weight alpaca yarn

Alpakka Fölgetråd is lace weight alpaca wool yarn for knitting. 400m per 50g thin two-ply yarn comes in six colors from grey to marzipan beige. Fölgetråd "additional yarn" is created especially to be knitted with another yarn such as fingering weight wool. Alpaca is a high quality natural fibre that brings warmth, softness and drape to any knitted garment.

How to use lace weigh alpaca yarn? Many popular knitting patterns call for two yarns, which are knitted together to create new effects, interesting color blends and lively fabric. Silk mohair is one of most popular yarns to knit two strands together, but Alpaca has the same benefits but only with soft halo instead of mohair fluff.

Add thin alpaca yarn to socks, mittens and hats for extra warmth or knit it in sweaters with worsted or dk weight yarns. Sandnes Garn has not given needle recommendation for Alpakka Fölgetråd, but you may try 2-3mm needles for this yarn used alone, or a bit larger needle on lace shawls.
