The Novice Sweater – Mohair Edition is worked from the top down. This means that you will start by knitting the rib edge at the neck, then the yoke, then the body of the sweater and finally the sleeves. The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch with edges in rib.

The Novice Sweater – Mohair Edition has a circular yoke. The yoke is shapes with a total of 4 rounds of increases that are evenly distributed along the length of the yoke.

Please note, that knitting to the correct gauge is necessary before you can expect to end up with a garment that have the measurements given in the pattern.

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are designed to fit an approximate chest circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ inches]. The Novice Sweater – Mohair Edition is designed to have approx. 6-12 cm [2¼-4¾ inches] of positive ease. This means that if you for example measure 94 cm [37 inches] around your chest (measure yourself around your chest, or your widest point using a measuring tape), you should knit a size M which has a circumference of 102 cm [40¼ inches].

Double-pointed needles: 3 mm [US2½]

Yarn: 175 (175-200) 200 (225) 225 (275) 325 g Silk Mohair by Isager Yarn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds])

Note: Two strand of yarn are held together throughout. The given yardage amounts are the total yardage needed. If you want long sleeves on your sweater, please add 25 g of yarn for each size.
