Escalator Hat Pattern

Escalator is a slouchy-style hat / beanie for casual wear

The design is made with short rows. If you want to change the size for e.g. a child, you can change the threads to e.g. DK or Sport weight. You can knit the short rows in the style you want, here it is not wrapped and turned, but the first loop is lifted after turning, the yarn in front of the work and pulled tight so that the bottom of the loop turns visible on the needle (= German short rows).

Yarn: Madelinetosh Vintage 100 g (approx. 180 m) or similar worsted strength yarn such as Lana Gatto Maxi Soft or Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt
Needles: 4mm and 5mm
Gauge: 19 s, 30 rows = 10 cm plain knit
Circumference: approx. 44 cm
Height: approx. 25 cm
