Louhittaren Luola hand dyed yarns from Finland are our firm favorites! Luonnotar is a wonderfully soft and durable single-ply merino wool yarn, spun from mulesing-free merino wool. It is a versatile yarn for knitting projects from sweaters to shawls, stockinette and textured knits and lace knitting, when you want softness, drape and spectacular colors.

Hand-dyed skeins are unique and there can be color differences even within the same lot. In addition, most colors include color "splashes" of different colors. For more even fabric, we recommend striping from two skeins to even out color differences between the skeins. So reserve enough yarn for your work!

Luonnotar is machine washable merino wool. However, we recommend hand washing the yarn to preserve the colors.
