Sandnes Garn Atlas is a fresh and inspiring addition to the beloved family of Norwegian yarn classics. This wool and merino blend brings together the best of both fibres: 70% Norwegian wool provides durability and structure, while 30% mulesing-free merino wool adds a gentle softness and refined surface. The result is a light, warm and woolly yarn that works perfectly for both plain knits and textured or colorwork projects.
Atlas is a three-ply yarn with excellent shape retention that highlights cables and textured stitches beautifully. It is carded for an airy and lively feel. Thanks to its merino content, Atlas is softer than the traditional 100% wool yarn, yet more structured and durable than the 100% merino yarns. This balance makes Atlas an ideal choice for knitters who want the softness of merino and the authenticity of wool – without compromise.
What to knit with Sandnes Garn Atlas
Atlas is ideal for sweaters, cardigans and accessories that call for warmth, durability and a touch of texture. It breathes well and feels pleasant next to the skin – even for those sensitive to wool.
It excels in cables, textured patterns and colourwork, where its structure really shines. Atlas is also a wonderful alternative if you like the DK to Worsted merino yarns but want a yarn with a bit more character and strength.
