Every year, it has been customary for the Jyväskylä Knit Fest to publish an official festival shawl, either in collaboration with a designer or by the owner of the Yarn Shop Titittyy Tiina. As well as this year! Tiina has designed a shawl related to the theme of this year's Jyväskylä's Summer, hope - in Finnish called Toivo. If the world needs anything right now, it's hope. We have lived in completely extraordinary times, which have made us see and experience the harshest aspects of life. Still, we hope that knitting this shawl, stitch by stitch, we will walk together towards the light. For as long as there is hope, there is also life.

The Toivo shawl is an easy lace shawl for even your first lace knitting. The shawl is knitted in the width direction "from wing to wing", one stitch is always added on the left side of the work on the right side. If you want to knit an easier version, omit diagram B completely and after diagram A continue to increase and lace another 53 rows or until about half of the last ball of yarn remains. Knit the purl side layer as the last one, and then move to the rib knit on the edge.
