Nurja Tough Sock is a 4-ply, high-quality yarn that combines the natural warmth and breathability of wool with the durability of polyamide.
Designed especially for socks, this yarn is also an excellent choice for any knitting project that needs strength and longevity without compromising on softness or colour depth.
Each skein is carefully hand-dyed, making every one unique – a perfect choice for knitters who value individuality and craftsmanship.
The colours come alive beautifully on the fabric, and the yarn knits smoothly both by hand and machine.

Nurja yarns are dyed in Nurja’s own dye studio in Kaleva, Tampere, right behind the walls of their beloved brick-and-mortar shop.
This special batch of Tough Sock was born from a collaboration between two Finnish yarn stores.
The yarns are dyed by Nurja, and the shades were designed by Eve from Nurja exclusively for Titityy.
The colour palette was created so that every shade works beautifully on its own, yet pairs harmoniously with the others – you can freely combine them to create your own rhythm and balance of tones.
Since this collection was made especially for Titityy, each colour is named after a bird species.
The names and hues draw inspiration from the world of birds – evoking Nordic landscapes, quiet forests, and the poetry of nature.
If you find a shade you especially love, it can be reordered later – these colours are reproducible.
Tough Sock is a 4-ply yarn of wool and polyamide that stands up to wear while bringing a hint of rustic texture to your knitting. It’s ideal for socks, but also works wonderfully for sweaters, shawls, and accessories – especially when you want a touch of woolly character and lasting durability.
Dyed in Finland, yarn manufactured in Germany, Wool origin Uruguay (wool is naturally mulesing-free), yarn is OEKO-TEX 100 Standard certified, class 2.
The yarns have been photographed with care to represent colours as accurately as possible.
Please note, however, that shades may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Each skein is hand-dyed, and natural tonal variations may occur – this is part of the charm of artisanal, hand-dyed yarn.
We recommend hand washing in cool water to preserve colourfastness.
Some colour bleeding may occur in the first washes.
