Sigrid Dress is a wardrobe essential – a simple summer dress featuring a boat neck, A-line shaping and i-cord edges.  The fit is comfortable and loose without being oversized.  The dress is worked in stockinette stitch from the top down using 2 strands of either Pure Silk, Cotton Merino or Merino held together throughout.  

You start with working the upper part of the back before you pick up stitches for the shoulders and then shape the boat neck by casting on new stitches. The armholes are shaped with increases before front and back are joined on the same needle and the body continued in the round.  The body and skirt are shaped with increases to create the A-line shape.  I-cord edges finish the skirt edge, both armholes and neckline – creating a neat and durable finish.

Yarn: Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, Cotton Merino or Merino (250 m [273 yd] / 50 g [1.8 oz]), fingering-weight yarn, 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6) balls. Sample is in Pure Silk in French Anemone colorway

Needles: 2 mm / US0, 2.5 mm / US1.5 and 3 mm / US2.5 circular needles, or in size to obtain gauge

Gauge (after blocking): 28 sts and 38 rows = 10 cm [4”] in st st with 3 mm / US2.5 needle
