Brushed alpaca and fluffy mohair are suitable for light and plush sweaters and wool jackets. We picked six favorite designs, all suitable for Sandnes' four favorite yarns,  Sandnes Garn Ballerina Chunky Mohair, Poppy, Sandnes Garn KOS and Börstet Alpakka.

Depending on the pattern the gauge may vary between 13 to 21 sts per 10 cm / 4". This means some sweaters are knitted with large needles and very loose gauge, which creates a loose, lightweight fabric. When gauge is smaller, the fabric is denser, thicker and less see-through. Getting the gauge is essential - make a swatch and see what kind of fabric you like.

If you substitute yarn with another, calculate the yarn required with comparing meters per ball. For example, five balls of KOS is 750 m, which substitutes to 7 balls of Poppy, 770m.

The original sweater is knitted from a combination of  Sandnes Garn Sundayand Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair held together, (the pink pullover) but Sandnes suggested that simple Ballerina Chunky Mohair and other thick fluffy yarns fit the pattern held single. Small gauge 21 sts per inch calls for approximately 4mm (US6) needles.
