BC Garn Soft Silk knitting yarn is beautiful, soft bourette silk, perfect for knitting soft summer garments, dresses, and tops, as well as comfortable knits for year-round use on sensitive skin. The excellent properties of silk make the yarn versatile: it keeps you warm in winter and cool on hot summer days.

The twist of this lively raw silk yarn varies slightly in density. The wide color palette offers many beautiful shades ranging from bright tones to neutrals and pastels.

Soft Silk is dyed with azo-free, environmentally friendly Oeko-Tex dyes. Especially in highly saturated colors, the yarn may contain excess dye, so it is recommended to rinse the yarn before use, particularly for multicolored projects. You can add a little vinegar to the final rinse water. Remember to wash your gauge swatch so you can see how much the knitted fabric changes. Silk is a fairly heavy fiber and tends to stretch in length in larger garments.

One skein is enough for a small shoulder shawl. The yardage needed for a women’s size M cardigan is approximately 300–350 g. The yarn can also be used as weft yarn in weaving.
