Knitting for Olive Pure Silk 100% Silk Yarn

Knitting for Olive Pure Silk is a soft and exquisite yarn made from pure bourette silk, also known as raw silk. Fingering weight yarn comes in a palette of colors inspired by nature. Pure Silk is suitable for summer knits, knitted tops and shawls when you need exquisite feel and drape.

Silk possesses remarkable heat-regulating qualities, making it suitable for year-round use in knitted garments. It has the ability to absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture while still feeling dry against the skin, making it particularly ideal for summer clothing. Additionally, silk, like wool, provides insulation and retains heat in colder weather.

The silk fibers used in the production of this yarn are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises have matured into moths and emerged. The little butterfly on the label signifies that the chrysalises were allowed to transform into butterflies, allowing them to complete their natural life cycle. The spinning mill employed by Knitting for Olive adheres to ethical, technical, and environmental standards, ensuring the creation of yarns that are free from harmful chemicals. The yarn is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified.
