Skinny Singles is one of the most popular fingering speckle dyed yarns in the knitting community. It is a single ply yarn with nice twist for hours of comfortable knitting and colors to die for. It suits shawl knitting, lace, textured patterns, brioche, sweaters, soft accessories, baby knits - it is essential for any knitter's stash!

If you have a single skein of Skinny Singles, you can knit a regular shawl with 4 - 4.5 mm needles (gauge approx. 5 - 6 sts per inch), or a couple of hats, pair of delicate fingerless mitts (needle size 2.5 - 3 mm, 6.5 - 7 sts per inch) or a cowl. For size S/M sweater you should purchase 3 to 4 skeins depending on your gauge and pattern. Try 3 - 4 mm needles for sweaters and cardigans (6 - 7 sts per inch). Dense fabric is best for day-to-day wear and holds its shape without pilling much. Looser gauge is best for shawls and lace knitting.

The unique colors of the Irish dye studio Hedgehog Fibres inspire knitters and designers around the world. Randomly but skillfully splashed speckles and imaginative color combinations are HF's trademark. The ever growing HF color palette includes also tons of beautiful semisolids and variegated colorways that invite you play with color fades, stripes -  why not fair-isle too.

We take the product photos carefully, but please note that every hand dyed skein is unique and there is variation between batches and skeins. Please purchase enough yarn for your project.

Care: Handwash in cold water with detergent suitable for wool. The dye is wash and sun proof. Some color may bleed in the first wash.

About multicolor projects: Especially when you combine dark and light colors, we recommend swatching with your chosen colors and washing the swatch to see how the yarns behave.
