Pick a Yarn for a Laine Magazine Issue 8 Kelo Pattern

The newest issue of Laine Magazine came out on May 31st. We gathered some yarns you should try for the issue's patterns. There are lots of color options in each yarn, and we are ready to help you choose the best color for you. Email us or contact us in Facebook if you have any questions!


The 8th Issue - Kelo includes eleven patterns from the following designers:

Justyna Lorkowska, Denise Bayron, Libby Jonson, Julie Dubreux, Leeni Hoimela, Astrid Troland, Sus Gepard, Éveline Cantin-Bergeron, Jenny Sauselein and Marjorie Martin.




1) HONEYDEW

The pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn, especially single ply merino together with a lace weight silk moahir yarn. 

La Bien Aimèe Merino Singles colors Jonna, Souvenir, Shipwreck, Peach Pom Pom and Isagerin Silk Mohair colors 68, 00, 62 and 100.


2) GEORGIE

Choose a sport weight yarn such as Quince & Co. Chickadee, pictured in gingerbread and honey. A handdyed option is The Uncommon Threadin Everyday Sport, colors james and the giant, olive leaf and tea smoked. 


3) GRACE

Odotamme varastoon Quince & Co.n tilausta, jossa saamme Puffinia ohjeen sävyssä!


4) PASVIK

Monikäyttöinen Pasvik-huivi on neulottu ranskalaisesta eettisestä merinolangasta Gilliatt. Sävyt sauge, granit ja poivre et sel.


5) HEATHER, socks

The beautiful lacy socks can be knitted with one of our many fingering weitght sock yarns, such as La Bien Aimèe Merino Super Sock in jonna and parchment and Julie Asselin Nomade in momo, echo and tilleul.


6) UOMA

Leeni Hoimela's classic beauty, Uoma, is made of Julie Asselin Leizu Fingering Simple. We carry over 40 colors of this drapey merino silk blend!


7) FLOWER BUDS

If you haven't made a summer top yet, try Flower Buds, which is made with a thin wool yarn together with a lace weight alpaca yarn. For summer you might want to choose a Linen or Silk Blend such as Sandnes Garn Tynn Line, of which I'm making my version of Flower Buds! I knit Tynn line single, so I chose a size larger than usual.  Holst Garn Tides together with  Alpaca 1 would be perfect too, or Alpaca 2 + Alpaca 1.


8) WATERLILY, cardigan

De Rerum Natura Albertine together with Filcolana Tilia or Sandnes Garn Tynn Silk Mohair.


9) CIMES

The allover lace sweater Cimes is a favorite knit! The classic pullover is made with Madelinetosh DK Twist, you may use Madelintosh Tosh DK  or The Uncommon Threadin Everyday Sweater.


10) ROSEBAY

Cool summer nights are saved with the lovely Rosebay shawl. Easy shawl is knitted with Brooklyn Tweed Loft, and De Rerum Natura Ulysse or Tukuwool Fingering would substitute well.


11) LAKKA

Lakka cardigan has a beautiful berry patterned yoke, which would look great in The Fibre Co Arranmore Light or wool yarn Lore.
