Small brown cashmere Sophie Scarf

Buy Kit for Tiina's Sophie Scarf, Large in Prestige dark brown

Sophie Scarf is a small accessory for indoor use. Petiteknit's sample is knitted with 3.50mm needles and DK weight yarn. The scarf pattern comes with two sizes, Small and Large, that require 92m to 128m yarn. Tiina knitted her coffee brown scarf with two balls of luxurious Lana Gatto Prestige cashmere yarn, more than enough yardage for Sophie Scarf size Large. Substitute with Sandnes Garn Tweed Recycled or heavy fingering weight Lana Gatto VIP cashmere merino blend.

Melange color Alpaca Silk Sophie Shawl

Buy Kit for Milja's Sophie Shawl, Small in Alpakka Silke

Sophie Shawl is a longer and chunkier shawl knitted on 5mm needles and 17 sts per 10cm gauge with DK to Worsted weight yarn. Three sizes Small, Medium and Large require approx. 300, 500, 600m of yarn. Mette’s dark grey sample shawl calls for Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull, similar to 100% Alpaca yarn Sandnes Garn Alpakka, which we highly recommend for this shawl.

Sophie shawl can be knitted with fingering yarn held doubled or fingering+lace combo. Milja knitted her rose/latte colored shawl with Sandnes Garn Alpakka Silke held double, half of her shawl with colors 4043 + 3041 and the other half with colors 4043 + 3161. She used less than 2 balls of 4043 and 1 ball of each 3041 and 3161.

Make the most of the yarn you have or use leftover yarn

Both Sophie Shawl and Scarf patterns give instructions on how to make a smaller or larger shawl than in the pattern and make the most of the yarn you have. Siina used a ball of Sandnes Garn Sunday on her marsipan beige Sophie Scarf, and has more scarfs on her needles already.

What a perfect way to use any leftover and lonely balls of yarn you have in your stash waiting for the right project!
