Knitted Summer Shirt Favorites

We picked a few of our favorite summer tops from Sandnes Garn and Petiteknit. Short sleeved yoke sweater or raglan top is a versatile piece for spring and summer. Dress up in a comfortable knitted tee and your favorite jeans, or wear the top with shorts or a skirt.

Plant fiber yarns are great alternatives for wool, when you want cool, breathable knits for hot weather or delicate skin. Here are our top plant fiber picks from Sandnes Garn and Kremke Soul Wool. These DK to Worsted weight yarns call for 3.5 to 4mm (US4-6) needles.

Sandnes Garn Line

Cotton, viscose and linen blend Sandnes Garn LINE is an affordable summer yarn with nearly 30 colors to choose from. It has lots of drape, heathered colors and is super soft and comfortable to wear. Limited edition TYKK LINE is also available right now in 8 colors!

Sandnes Garn summer knit collection 2104 Sommer Dame includes two patterns for Line. SNÖKLOCKE TOP, snowbell top, is a lace yoke tee. Top down knitted top is suitable for beginners. The cafe au lait color top is shown at Titityy shop - come to visit us and try it yourself!

MARIAN TOP is a striped stockinette T-shirt. Would you choose the classic Navy and Linen combo or go with something totally different? Both of these patterns are available in English in the 2104 Booklet.

Sandnes Garn Line is recommended for ANKER’S SUMMER SHIRT by PetiteKnit also, shown below in natural light beige. Petiteknit's Anker patterns have a rib pattern yoke, a pattern suitable for beginner knitters. PetiteKnit model shirt is knitted from Line in color 1015 kitt.

Anker's Summer Shirt - Sandnes Garn Line

Tiina knitted her Anker Summer Shirt (pictured below) from MORNING SALUTATION VEGAN, which is a cotton-viscose blend by Kremke Soul Wool. It is a tightly spun yarn with subtle sheen. Tiina’s L-size shirt took 7 balls of color Brass.



Morning Salutation's jewel tones and light pastels

Sandnes Garn DUO is a blend of wool and cotton that knits up to soft and matt fabric. Nearly 30 stonewashed colors and deep tones available! Duo is a bit looser than Morning Salutation, but as comfortable to knit and wear. Both of these yarns may be used for Petiteknit’s RIGMOR TEE, pictured below in natural white. Raglan-sleeved lace top is worked from the bottom up in one piece.

A DK-weight knit top is in my queue this spring. I'm yet to decide whether to go with timeless neutrals or choose a power color. Can't wait for the summer!
