This is a cool and fun simple beanie to be worn any day, hot or cold! Use a bright or neon color from Maxi Soft for your beanie to stand out!

Yarn: Lana Gatto Maxi Soft

Yardage: 2 skeins (100 g/180 m)

Needles: 4 mm 

Pattern:

With your preferred method cast on 88 sts* and join to knit in the round. Please note, use a stretchy cast on, so that the cast on edge isn’t too tight. The original beanie uses the German Twisted cast on, but any other works well. 

Knit 2, purl 2 ribbing, until you have approx. a bit more than a meter of the yarn left.

Decrease round 1: *K2tog, p2tog (knit the knits and purl the purls together*, repeat *-* until the end of the round. [44 sts]

Decrease round 2: K2tog the entire round. [22 s] 

Pull yarn through remaining sts. Weave in yarn ends to the wrong side. Block it if you want, or start wearing it!

*The stitch count can be divided by 4. If you want a larger or smaller beanie add/reduce 4 or 8 sts.

You’ll get a mohair version by combining any silk mohair, such as Sensai.
