Filcolana summer collection takes us to a knitting journey of our dreams. Udlængsel is a danish word that means the desire to leave one’s home and experience something different from the everyday life, for instance by travelling. The designers were asked to dream themselves away and create a collection of knitwear inspired by their interpretation of udlængsel.

In this collection you find 21 beautiful summer knit designs for kids and grown-ups, inspired by the opera in Verona, the landscapes in Greenland and the Faroe Islands, sunny moments on small islands in the Adriatic Sea, neon lights, music and street kitchens in Athens, steps walked on the Camino de Santiago, and many more.

Saint Malo Striped Sweater, Design Rachel Søgaard

The blouse with a slightly V-shaped boatneck is inspired by the striped sailor jerseys that the yachters in the designer’s family always wore in the summer. The designer borrowed the name from the city on the coast of Bretagne, where many French spend their summer holiday. Knit Saint Malo sweater in Filcolana Merci or Arwetta Classic.

Sanibel Top, Design Else Schjellerup

After the darkness of the winter, we long to go outside and feel the warmth of the sun on our bare shoulders. The designer was inspired by one of the world’s most beautiful places, the American island Sanibel, where one can go for long walks on the beach and collect shells, washed up from the Mexican Gulf. Sanibel Top has a tight fit and is reversible. You can choose to wear it, so the V-shaped opening is on the back and the square opening is on the front. The knitted top calls for Filcolana Merci, or you may substitute with Arwetta Classic.

Hvar Sweater, Design Marianne Nørbo

The longing after swimming along the coasts of the Croatian sunny island Hvar has been the inspiration for this design. The incredibly clear waters around the rocky island have inspired the designer to use the light blue shades of Filcolana Alva and Saga. The result is a light and soft sweater, ideal for cooler summer evenings.
